Section Conclave!

This is the Last conclave that C2B will be hosting and will be the last time that Gabe will win the coup stick. But we need your help, and your friends help as well. Conclave is a weekend long gathering of the lodges throughout the state of Michigan. Its a great time to k…ick back, learn some new things about boy scouts and scream to your hearts content for Gabe.

The one question I have for you is Who’s Your Gabe?

The cost for the event is $35 and includes a T shirt and a patch from Section. You will need to bring a tent with you, but food and other nesecities will be provided. It would be a good idea to supply your own cough drops though.

Registration forms can be turned into the scout office, forms will be available on the website.

Don’t wait, sign up today, and tell all of the members of your troop to sign up as well

Carpool will be departing from the Lansing Meijer on Pensylvania at 5:30 sharply

You can register for conclave online by emailing your registration form to gabe374.reg@gmail.com

You can pay the $35 fee at the council office or at the door. But we need your name and commitment!

March E-Board Wrap up

Over the past month we’ve had a lot going on within our lodge. We hosted our annual winter banquet and had an amazing turnout. Over 130 arrowmen and their families joined us that night for an evening filled with good food and fellowship. We tapped out our 2012 Vigil Class, recognized 3 Founders Award recipients, and gave out 2 James E. West Fellowships.

We also debuted 2 new patches that will be available for purchase at our March Brotherhood (March 23-25).

In other news our lodge traveled upstate through a winter storm over this past weekend for the Section COC in Traverse City. And after many hours filled with snowball fights and shoveling we presented our Decourcy Award Petition for the 4th year in a row.

After a long drive back downstate our lodge executive board met and decided on a few different things.

1) Our lodge will donate $2000 to our councils Friends of Scouting Campaign in 2012

2) Finalized Plans for our March Brotherhood

3) Discussed the progress of our New Lodge Creation Team

Transition Process

Greetings Brothers, as you all know our Lodges are going through a transition process. We will sadly say goodbye to Chickagami Lodge, Cuwe Lodge, Gabe-shi-win-gi-ji-kens Lodge, and Mischigonong Lodge. We will welcome our new Lodge that is in transit.
The transition board has decided to meet monthly to discuss the various aspects that go along with the formation of a new OA Lodge. All of our work will be done by NOAC where our new Lodge will become an official entity of the BSA. We have decided to create committees to help us accomplish our irksome tasks, which include the new Lodge’s structure, the new Lodges first events, the new Lodges finances, and the new Lodges name, totem, and number.
All of the individual Lodges will run their events like normal until NOAC. Each Lodges Vigil class and other special awards will also continue until the new Lodge takes shape. After NOAC we will induct the first new members into the new Lodge.
All of the transition board members look forward to be able to call each other brothers from the same Lodge.
